Look at pictures in a fashion
magazine. Identify key words (dress, shoes, jackets, suit, trousers, tie,
etc) and discuss when they would use the different outfits.

Listen to a model conversation
between two teenagers buying clothes for their prom party. Practise using the
same conversation model with information from the fashion magazine in step 1.

Listen to several native
speakers buying clothes . Identify vocabulary related to clothes and where they would wear it. For example :a
party, a job, sports, etc.)

Step 4

Listen again to conversations. Use
cue words (size, price, changing room) and write complete questions and
answers involving buying clothes ( What size is That?- How much…?Can I help
you?)

Step5
|
Pair work: information gap role
play. Student A is the shop assistant and student B is the customer. Make a
list of clothes needed for prom party.
|
Step 6
|
In pairs discuss and
make decision about the following task. Look at different outfits for a prom party in the store
and decide the most suitable one to buy.
